IMU 2008: The Illustrators of Grafill Members Exhibition

For the second year we (Grafill Illustration) arranged an exhibtion for all the illustration members in Grafill. This year it was send in 150 pieces of work, all was showed at DogA, Oslo. 100 people showed up for the opening and we had a very nice evening! Talking about techniques, comissions, ideas…

Grafill Illustrasjon gjentar fjorårets suksess med en ny medlemsutstilling på DogA.
Utstillingen viser både publiserte og upubliserte arbeider, og illustratører fra hele Norge stiller ut. I år har responsen vært enorm og i skrivende stund er det nesten 60 illustratører som skal være med - med to arbeider hver. IMU er en salgsutstilling med illustrasjoner fra forskjellige bruksområder, alt fra barnebøker til avistegning og animasjon. Vernissage torsdag 11. desember kl 19.00.

Christmas Exhibition in The Old Blacksmith´s House

Seven artist from the council I live in, was invited to be part of the first exhibiton ever in the old house of the local blacksmith. The building is protected against change because of it´s old history. Everything was very dirty, but had lots of characters. The exhibition was well visited by the local people just out for a Sunday walk.

WORKSHOP:
As a part of the "advent calender" I arranged a drawing workshop for children and everyone else interested. It was set in a tent/lavvo in Mjøndalen´s shooping area. I was dresssed up as Mother Christmas. Lot´s of really nice drawings, and set on a nice Winters day! Thanks to everyone poping by!

The arrangers was the local council Nedre Eiker kommune.

Exhibition at Tegneforbundet, Oslo

A group of editorial illustrators had an exhibition together in the gallery of Tegneforbundet in Oslo. We had a Christmas due the evening before so I never made the opening. Sorry about that!
But Karl the man* did an exellent job!

Kjetil Rolness wrote about Darwin in Dagbladet in January, and it has mentioned on the sites for the Darwin fans…sorry followers… in Norway! Have a banana!

Havnelageret - a BIG commission!

The newspapers Dagbladet and Aftenposten wanted to "show off" their illustrators and photographers in their new offices in Bjørvika, Oslo. The images was blown up to the size 1,50 x 1 meter.
The other illustrators/artist was:
Finn Graff, Arne Nøst, Fredrik Skavlan, Nemi and me for Dagbladet.
Inge Grødum, Lars Fiske, Ulf Aas, Ørjan Jensen og Stein Nerland from the newspaper Aftenposten.
And it was a big party and a grand opening with lots of importent people!!

Interview with Drammens Tidende

Bjørn Zarbell-Engh (journalist) og Ragnar Halden (photographer) came to see at me at my studio in Vestfossen in November 2008. I served coffee and Christmas Cake (or fruitcake) and talked LOTS about myself. They are velcome back anytime! Lovely men as they are!!
A little correction: I don´t have any of my own work on my wall. The drawing on the picture is made by my son Didrik.

BCMG: Music Maze 2008/2009

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group is for the 5th year running using Gunnlaug as their illustrator. The projects has mainly been the Music Maze, but this year a new groupe called the ZigZag, for 14-18 year olds, has been started as well.

Kunst rett Vest 2008

MAIN EXHIBITON:
Kunst Rett Vest main exhibiton opens Thursday 11th of September, at 19.30. Place is [arena] Vestfossen.

OPEN STUDIOS:
All the open studios is open the weekends 13-14 of September and 19-20 of September, time 12 to 17.

Regular Illustrator for The Guardian

From July 2008 Gunnlaug is illustrating once a month for The Family Section in the English newspaper The Guardian. The articles are responses from the public on different issues that the paper writing about.

Illustrations For New Book of Dagbladet´s Writer Hallgeir Opedal

Illutrations from Dagbladet´s Sunday Magazine has become a book. Hallgeir has written a petit every Sunday and all the text and a selection of illustrations has become the a book that will be released in fall 2008. The publishers is Samlaget Forlag.
